Mickoski: Macedonia’s state interests are represented with dignity and sound arguments

During his stay in New York, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski held an official meeting with Christopher Landau, Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America.

The meeting was also attended by Brendan Hanrahan, Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, and Daniel Lawton, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe.

According to a statement, the meeting served as an opportunity for an open and substantive discussion on the strategic partnership with the United States of America, the strengthening of political and economic dialogue, and other issues of mutual interest.

Mickoski said that, amid serious geopolitical challenges and changes in international relations, it is particularly important for the country to maintain strong, stable and principled relations with its strategic partners. He emphasized that the United States of America remains Macedonia’s long-term strategic partner and ally, while direct communication at high political levels helps further strengthen these ties.

The meeting examined opportunities to expand cooperation in several areas, including economic development, investment, security and regional stability. The role of Macedonia as a NATO ally and a partner contributing to regional stability was also discussed.

According to Mickoski, Macedonia now puts forward clear state interests and the determination to defend them with dignity and sound arguments before its partners. He added that the relations are based on mutual respect, trust and concrete cooperation, which should produce results for citizens and the state./Telegrafi/
