Mickoski after meeting Janša: Macedonia seeks a fair and predictable process toward the EU

In New York, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met with his Slovenian counterpart, Janez Janša, with whom he discussed Macedonia’s European perspective, the strengthening of political and economic relations between the two countries, as well as the latest geopolitical and security developments in Europe and the region.

After the meeting, Mickoski said that his country remains committed to integration into the European Union and the implementation of reforms. According to him, the process should be based on fulfilled criteria and the concrete results achieved by Macedonia.

The prime minister stressed that Skopje is not seeking privileged treatment or a shortcut to the EU, but a fair and predictable procedure in which achievements are taken into account and the country is treated with respect as a state and partner.

He described Slovenia as a long-standing friend and an important partner of Macedonia in the EU and NATO. Mickoski added that both sides share an interest in expanding economic cooperation, increasing investment and implementing concrete projects.
