Mexhiti calls for unity in appeal process: Legal battle for former KLA leaders continues

Izet Mexhiti, co-chair of VLEN, has called on Albanian political forces across all regions to unite in support of the appeal process for the former KLA leaders at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

According to Mexhiti, the first-instance verdict was met with indignation. He said that, at this stage, political parties should set aside their differences and coordinate their efforts in the proceedings before the Court of Appeals.

The VLEN co-chair stressed that the first-instance ruling does not mark the end of the legal battle. For this reason, he called for all forces to mobilize to win what he described as the second battle, emphasizing that the fight has not yet been lost.

Mexhiti also stated that the Kosovo Liberation Army and the National Liberation Army represent the most glorious chapter in the history of Albanians in Macedonia, Kosovo and elsewhere.
