Meeting in Pristina: KFOR and the EU discuss security in Kosovo

Major General Ozkan Ulutash, commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, received Dirk Schubel, the European Union’s special representative for Kosovo and head of the EU Office in Kosovo, at the mission’s headquarters in Pristina.

Dirk Schubel was recently appointed to both positions.

The meeting reviewed the security situation in Kosovo, while the parties also discussed strengthening coordination between them, KFOR announced.

Commander Ulutash praised the continued cooperation between the KFOR mission and the European Union Office in Kosovo.

KFOR said it continues to fulfill its mandate, with the aim of creating a safe and secure environment for all people in Kosovo, as well as safeguarding freedom of movement.

The NATO mission in Kosovo stressed that it operates impartially and cooperates closely with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, while respecting each party’s respective responsibilities in the field of security.
