LSDM: OBRM-PDUKM Evades Responsibility for Gostivar’s Water by Attacking Doctors and Professors

LSDM today accused the OBRM-PDUKM government of once again using a familiar tactic: whenever it has no answers and is called to account, it attacks those who bring the truth to light.

“Instead of explaining why the institutions remained silent while Gostivar residents consumed contaminated water, why the epidemic was declared late, and how thousands of people came to be poisoned, Health Minister Sasho Klekovski chose to attack doctors and professors,” LSDM said.

According to the party, Klekovski labeled them “epidemic riders” seeking to accumulate “likes on social media.”

LSDM described this approach as shameful and dangerous, stressing that experts do not “ride” the epidemic but issue warnings, demand clear information, and identify shortcomings.

As doctors and scientists, they have a duty to speak publicly when institutions remain silent or manipulate information, the statement said.

According to LSDM, these attacks are an attempt to divert attention from the real issue—an institutional collapse in healthcare and the concealment of information—and turn it against those telling the truth.

“Gostivar residents did not fall ill because a doctor or professor posted comments on social media. They fell ill because the institutions failed to act in time, because the water was declared safe even though it was known to be contaminated, and because responsibility is being evaded,” the party stressed.

LSDM added that this is OBRM-PDUKM’s typical pattern: when results are lacking and accountability is required, doctors, experts, journalists, and everyone who refuses to remain silent are targeted./Telegrafi/
