Llugaliu and Nikollovski discuss reforms and customs cooperation

The Director General of Kosovo Customs, Agron Llugaliu, held an official meeting with the Director General of the Customs Administration of North Macedonia, Boban Nikollovski, and Deputy Director Mustafa Dauti. The discussions focused on cooperation between the two countries and reforms in the customs sector.

Llugaliu said that joint work with North Macedonia Customs had produced good results, particularly regarding the reform of pre-arrival declarations. He also underscored the importance of sharing information and experience between the two administrations.

“During this year, we have also cooperated with North Macedonia Customs on the development of several customs reforms. An important part of these reforms concerns the reform and initiation of pre-arrival declarations. Although this is a very demanding reform and task, the results achieved so far are generally very satisfactory. We see this as recognition of our efforts and aim to build on the progress made so far with the Customs Administration of North Macedonia. For this reason, the exchange of information and experience in this area is of great importance for progress,” he said.

As another successful example of cooperation, Llugaliu mentioned the operation of the joint “One Stop Shop” control point at the border crossings between Kosovo and North Macedonia.

“The joint ‘One Stop Shop’ control point at the Hani i Elezit–Blace and Globocica–Jazhince Blace border crossings also represents a success story. We have received very positive feedback on this process from all stakeholders, while it is particularly important that citizens of both countries have welcomed it positively. I also welcome the Deputy Director General for customs investments and expect that, together with all the teams, we will work on this broad agenda to develop our cooperation in the future. This will be supported by the traditional and highly efficient cooperation we have had with North Macedonia Customs,” Llugaliu said.

Boban Nikollovski, Director General of the Customs Administration of North Macedonia, said he was pleased with the relations and cooperation between the two administrations.

“For me and my entire customs administration team, it is a pleasure to be here, especially following your invitation. I am closely following the way you are working and carrying out your duties, and I believe you are doing a very good job. Our success lies in our joint work and in the results being achieved by both sides. This is very important to us as a customs administration,” Nikollovski said.
