“If we are attacked, we will counterattack… we will engage,” Sinkevičius said. He also announced that authorities have foreseen the removal of the elderly from cities.
According to the prime minister, Lithuania feels “constantly threatened” by Russia, especially after recent drone incidents in the country’s airspace.
A week ago, NATO fighter jets shot down a drone that had entered Lithuanian airspace. Its origin has not yet been confirmed, while the Lithuanian defense minister stated that the drone had come from the direction of Belarus.
Lithuania is part of NATO and borders the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.
