LDK Branch in Rahovec Calls for Internal Elections at All Levels of the Party

The Rahovec branch of the Democratic League of Kosovo has called for the party to enter a general internal election process, from the sub-branch level up to the leader of the LDK, following a review of the results of the June 7, 2026 elections.

In a public statement, the branch announced that during the meeting held on June 26, the electoral performance was analyzed both in the Municipality of Rahovec and at the level of the Republic of Kosovo.

“The Democratic League of Kosovo, Rahovec Branch, at the meeting held on 26.06.2026, among other things analyzed the election result in the June 7, 2026 elections, both in the Municipality of Rahovec and at the level of the Republic of Kosovo,” the statement said.

According to the LDK branch in Rahovec, the Presidency made a unanimous decision that, by taking responsibility for the result achieved, the party must undergo a general electoral process.

“With the unanimous vote of the present members of the Branch Presidency, it was decided that, by taking responsibility for this election result, the Democratic League of Kosovo must enter a general electoral process, from the sub-branches up to the President of the LDK,” it further states.

This branch assessed that the expectations of its structures and activists for the most recent elections had been higher, while the result achieved was considered insufficient.

“In the June 7, 2026 elections, the expectations of the Branch and activists were for a better result for the LDK. Given the weak election result in general and in particular in Rahovec, the LDK branch in Rahovec considers it necessary to hold elections at all levels,” the reaction states.

According to this political entity in Rahovec, strengthening the LDK can only be achieved through an inclusive, statutory and transparent process.

“Only through such an inclusive, statutory and transparent process would a strong LDK be guaranteed,” the statement concludes.
