Large-Scale Fire on Mount Krujë, Three Helicopters and a Bayraktar Drone Intervene from the Air

The large-scale fire on Mount Krujë has prompted Albanian authorities to take action, deploying helicopters and a Bayraktar drone from the air.

The firefighting operation continued throughout the night, involving civil emergency services and the Armed Forces.

More than 200 personnel from the civil emergency services and the Armed Forces have been deployed in the operation, while 80 Fire and Rescue personnel are also on the ground.

To tackle the situation, 21 fire engines, three helicopters, the Bayraktar TB2 drone, two drones equipped with thermal cameras from the National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC), and ambulances are being used.

Defense Minister Ermal Nufi has closely monitored the situation on the ground, coordinating the deployment of the Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue services, and other civil emergency institutions.

Operations to contain and bring the fire on Mount Krujë under control have continued intensively, with civil emergency services and the Armed Forces working without interruption throughout the night.

Defense Minister Ermal Nufi closely monitored the situation and the operation on the ground and coordinated the deployment of the Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue services, and other civil emergency services.

More than 200 personnel from the civil emergency services and the Armed Forces, as well as 80 Fire and Rescue personnel, took part in the operation.

The following resources have been deployed on the ground and from the air:

21 fire engines;

3 helicopters;

the Bayraktar TB2 drone;

2 AKMC drones equipped with thermal cameras;

ambulances.

AKMC’s Mobile Operations Center has been deployed in the area to coordinate and monitor the operation.

All services are continuing the operation with maximum commitment and full coordination, while the situation is being continuously monitored from the ground and the air.

The operation’s priority remains protecting citizens’ lives, homes, and property, as well as bringing the fire in the Krujë area fully under control.
