Wildfire situation in the country: 8 hotspots still active, operations continue to extinguish flames in Tirana, Krujë and Dibër

The Ministry of Defense has announced that 35 wildfires were reported across the country over the past 24 hours, 8 of which remain active. A total of 533 operational personnel and 39 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to manage the situation.

They have been supported by 186 members of the Armed Forces, 4 helicopters and 2 “Air Tractor” planes. Operations currently continue on the ground with 120 Armed Forces personnel, 2 helicopters and 2 “Air Tractor” planes.

In Dajt, Tirana, efforts to extinguish the fire in the area above the Qafë-Mollë tunnels are ongoing. The operation is being supported by 50 Armed Forces personnel and two helicopters. According to the authorities, there is no risk to residential areas.

Meanwhile, the fire in Priskë, Farkë and the surrounding areas has been brought under control. In Krujë, forces continue their intervention at the Abazë and Zidoll hotspots. Work is underway in Zidoll to contain and fully extinguish the fire, while no risk to homes has been reported.

Another operation is ongoing in Gurë-Lurë, Dibër, where the opening of corridors has helped slow the advance of the flames toward residential areas. Civil Protection forces are deployed on the ground, supported by 50 Armed Forces personnel, two “Air Tractor” planes and a water tanker.

In Qafë Helmes, in the Bulqizë-Selishtë area, the operation continues with the support of 20 Armed Forces personnel. No risk to homes has been reported in this area either.

Meanwhile, in Lezhë, Elbasan and Shkodër, efforts continue to contain and extinguish the remaining hotspots in Lufaj, Dardhë and the Tërbun forests.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the fires in Përmet, Trojë, Qukës and Paulesh have been completely extinguished. The National Civil Protection Agency continues to monitor the situation and coordinate the structures on the ground, focusing on protecting homes and controlling the hotspots that remain active.
