Kurti: Bondsteel Should Become a Permanent US Military Presence in Kosovo

Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, hosted US Senator Joni Ernst at the Prime Minister’s Office, where they discussed developments in the country and Kosovo’s partnership with the United States of America.

During the meeting, particular attention was paid to the US military presence in Kosovo. Kurti said that Camp Bondsteel should become a permanent United States base in the Republic of Kosovo.

According to him, such a presence would guarantee peace and security in Kosovo and the region, while also serving as a strategic location for NATO operations in Southeastern Europe.

“Camp Bondsteel should be transformed into a permanent military presence in our Republic. Such a presence would serve as a guarantor of peace and security in Kosovo and the region, as well as a strategic base for NATO operations in Southeastern Europe,” Kurti said.

Kurti said he also discussed Kosovo’s progress in economic growth and improvements in domestic security with Senator Ernst.

He described Joni Ernst as one of the Republic of Kosovo’s important friends and supporters, as well as one of the strongest voices supporting the country in the US Congress.

The meeting followed talks between Kurti and Ernst in Washington, DC, in September last year.
