Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has announced a positive development for the country, saying that Kosovo will benefit from 206.4 million euros from European Union funds.
He explained that the IPA Committee has approved the projects proposed by Kosovo under the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 programmes, worth 180.5 million euros. In addition, three grants from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), with a total value of 25.9 million euros, have also been approved.

In his full post, Kurti said: “Good news for citizens. Kosovo benefits from 206.4 million euros from EU funds.”
He said that yesterday, on July 7, the European Union officially informed Kosovo that the IPA Committee had approved the projects proposed by the country under IPA 2026 and IPA 2027, worth 180.5 million euros. According to him, after approval by the European Commission and then the signing and ratification of the Financial Agreement by the Assembly, implementation of the projects will begin.
According to Kurti, these funds will support the country’s priority sectors.
• Environment and climate – 44 million euros;
• Energy – 34.5 million euros;
• Border management and migration – 30.5 million euros;
• Competitiveness, education and employment – 31.8 million euros;
• Good governance and EU alignment – 24.7 million euros;
• Rule of law – 15 million euros.
He also stressed that approximately half of these funds will be directed toward infrastructure investments. Meanwhile, most of the projects will be implemented in cooperation with other development partners and with co-financing from Kosovo’s institutions.
In addition to the IPA 2026 and IPA 2027 projects, Kurti also announced the approval of three grants from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), with a total value of 25.9 million euros.
The grants include the Ibër-Lepenc Hydrosystem, for technical assistance in preparing the infrastructure investment; the Qafë e Duhlës–Banullë Highway, for technical assistance in preparing the highway segment; as well as the wastewater treatment plant in Podujevë, with an investment grant of 24.3 million euros, in cooperation with the EBRD.
In the end, he thanked the European Union for its support, stressing that these funds will be used in the service of citizens and for the country’s development.
