Kulla: Pacolli tried to help former KLA leaders through his contacts

Ilir Kulla, director of the Global Crisis Group, commented on the “Matrix” program on the final verdict in the case of the former KLA leaders, which is expected to be announced in The Hague on Wednesday.

He expressed hope that the former KLA leaders would be released and return to their homes, noting that the judicial proceedings have lasted six years.

“The hope is that these people will return to their homes and that this chapter will come to an end. At first, many believed they would stay for only two weeks and then return, but six years have passed,” Kulla said.

According to him, efforts have been made to help the former KLA leaders through communications and various means. In this context, Kulla also mentioned Kosovo’s former foreign minister, Behgjet Pacolli.

“Many people have tried to help them through discussions and various means. Among them is Kosovo’s former foreign minister, Pacolli, who is friends with Mr. Zampoli and has discussed this issue. The will of the people has not been lacking,” he said.

Kulla said that proceedings conducted by the special courts have generally been accompanied by difficult moments. However, he expressed hope that such a situation would not be repeated in the case of the former KLA leaders.

“In the history of the special courts, difficulties have generally been unavoidable. I hope there will be none in this case,” Kulla said.
