Kukës: Fire in Trulli Mountain Area Extinguished After Firefighters and Residents Intervene

On Friday afternoon, a fire broke out in the mountainous Trulli area, in the village of Surroj in Kukës Municipality. The flames affected an area covered with shrubs and low vegetation, while strong winds and the high temperatures of recent days contributed to their spread.

After receiving the alert, firefighters from Kukës Municipality went to the scene and immediately began working to contain and extinguish the blaze, despite the difficulties posed by the mountainous terrain.

Local residents also joined the firefighters’ efforts. Using makeshift tools, they helped stop the flames from spreading to other areas.

The swift response made it possible to contain and completely extinguish the fire, preventing greater damage in the affected area and averting danger to the surrounding territory.

The authorities are urging citizens to exercise particular caution during periods of high temperatures and to refrain from any actions that could cause fires in forests, pastures or vegetated areas.

Citizens should notify the fire service without delay whenever they spot a fire.
