“The deadline is October 6. If the Constitutional Court’s judgment is implemented, Parliament will be dissolved through a decree by the acting president. Then, through another decree, snap elections will be called, and they must be held within 45 days,” Kryeziu told Front Online.
The full judgment of the Constitutional Court was published on September 29. In it, the Court assessed that Parliament had been constituted and that the election of the “Kurti 4” Government was in line with the Constitution.
The document also set October 6 as the final date by which Kosovo’s president must be elected.
The Court clarified that the Assembly Presidency may continue its work without a deputy speaker under certain circumstances, as long as a quorum exists. However, it requested that the deputy speaker from the PDK be elected as soon as possible.
If the president is not elected by October 6, the judgment stipulates that elections must be held within 45 days.
