Former Freedom Party MP Monika Kryemadhi spoke about the lawyers’ boycott after appearing at the premises of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK). She raised suspicions that the situation could be part of a scenario to halt the arrests of individuals who, according to her, belong to Rama’s structured criminal group.

During her statement to the media, Kryemadhi said that Ilir Meta was also suffering the consequences of the boycott, as his hearing had been postponed.
“After 72 hours, any person who is arrested may be released on the grounds that they do not have a lawyer and that the proceedings cannot take place. This is a scenario to prevent the arrest of members of the Great Sultan’s structured group, while those who were obstructing us and destabilizing the political situation are kept inside,” she declared.
Kryemadhi said she had felt insulted, explaining that her lawyer had been present in the courtroom. She said she was at the stage of presenting her submissions and explanations, while describing the allegations against her as absurd.
According to her, Ilir Meta cannot be penalized because of the lawyers’ boycott, regardless of whether the decision is lawful or not. She added that her lawyer had raised the same claim.
The former MP said she had also requested that the hearing be postponed for another week because of her health condition.
“I felt criminally exploited, because humanity does not exist. I knew that there was no humanity in politics, but I believed that in some institutions, to which we have entrusted the fate of our lives, there might be more humanity,” Kryemadhi said.
She also recalled a conversation with a protester near SPAK, who had told her not to fear the judgment of that building, but the judgment of the people. “And this is true: the day will come when everyone will be held accountable before the people, both politicians and everyone else,” Kryemadhi concluded.
