Krujë: Flames Reappear in Krastë and Abazaj Neighborhood, Fire Spreads Near Explosives Depots

Another fire has broken out in Krujë, in the northern part of the Krastë area, once again raising alarm over the spread of the flames. According to reports from residents to BalkanWeb, the fire is suspected to have been deliberately set and is advancing rapidly, fueled by strong winds.

The danger is heightened because the flames are near depots where explosives used to supply quarries are stored. To manage the situation, an army helicopter has returned to the area, while Krujë firefighters have established a safety perimeter to prevent the fire from reaching the depots.

Fires also remain active in the Abazaj neighborhood, where residents have appealed for help.

Residents say they requested intervention from the authorities by phone, but according to them, the response did not come in time. Crews on the ground are working to contain the fires, while the situation remains dangerous because of the wind and the proximity of the flames to areas where hazardous facilities are located.
