A contained fire continues to burn in the Abazë neighborhood, near the site where the massive blaze that has engulfed the area for several days first broke out.

Although crews have repeatedly intervened both on the ground and from the air, the flames have reappeared. Efforts to fully extinguish the hotspots are being hampered by dense layers of leaves, vegetation and humus that have accumulated over the years.
Two helicopters are currently dropping water on the fire hotspots near the Abazë neighborhood, as well as in the Bojë neighborhood, near Zidoll.
Meanwhile, Qemal Berhami, the elderly man arrested on suspicion of being connected to the outbreak of the fire in Abazë, has been released. He returned to his home last night.
