Referring to its previous term, the government said the military budget had tripled and 3,220 new soldiers had been recruited into the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). These recruits more than doubled the force’s personnel.
Another cohort is expected to begin training this year, the government announced, linking this step to its aim of meeting the KSF’s strategic objectives sooner.
In its statement, the Government of Kosovo stressed its determination to further build up the military, a process it said is continuing every day. It identified defending the homeland and securing NATO membership for the military as clear goals.
