Kosovo Assembly Constituted, Parliament Speaker Expected to Be Elected! 60-Day Deadline for New President

The elected members of the 11th legislature of the Kosovo Assembly have convened for the Assembly’s constitutive session.

They initially voted to establish a temporary committee to verify the mandates.

The agenda includes the swearing-in of MPs and the election of the Assembly speaker and deputy speakers.

The constitution of the Assembly marks the start of the 60-day deadline for electing the president, which remains the main point of disagreement between the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo.

The 15-day deadline for voting on the government begins only after the acting president gives the mandate to the candidate proposed by the parliamentary majority.
