Kosovo and Germany pledge to strengthen partnership in environmental protection

Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Fitore Pacolli said that Kosovo and Germany aim to expand cooperation on environmental protection, with a particular focus on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

Pacolli said she had held a meeting with Bettina Hagedorn, Parliamentary State Secretary at Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment.

According to her, the two countries discussed opportunities for cooperation in the environmental sector. “I briefed her on the concrete work we are doing to protect water resources and natural areas, combat illegal dumpsites and address climate challenges,” Pacolli said.

She said the meeting reaffirmed the commitment to advancing cooperation within the framework of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

“We reaffirmed our commitment to deepening cooperation within the framework of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, particularly in decarbonization, the circular economy and biodiversity protection,” she said.

Minister Pacolli described Germany as an important ally for Kosovo in achieving these objectives.

“Germany is a very important partner for Kosovo in advancing these priorities, and during this meeting they also reaffirmed their support for our objectives,” Pacolli said.
