Kim Kardashian criticized after posting photos drinking tequila a day after her grandmother died

Kim Kardashian faced criticism on social media after posting several bikini photos on Instagram just hours after news of the death of her grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell, became public.

Among the photos was one showing the reality TV star drinking tequila, which many followers considered inappropriate given the painful moment for the Kardashian-Jenner family.

However, Kim later clarified that the posts were unrelated to the recent events, as they had been scheduled and prepared several days before her grandmother’s death.

Reactions began immediately after Kardashian shared the photos, which also included promotion for a tequila brand. This happened at the same time that other members of the Kardashian-Jenner family were posting touching farewell messages for MJ.

“One person commented: ‘Didn’t your grandmother just die? Couldn’t this post have waited until the weekend?’, while another wrote: ‘Kim… your grandmother just passed away…’”

On the other hand, some followers defended her, pointing out that it was a promotional post that had been scheduled in advance.

“What unfortunate timing for a scheduled post, especially after seeing Kris Jenner’s emotional post at the same time,” one follower wrote.

The debate widened further, raising the question of whether public figures should stop publishing scheduled content in the event of family tragedies.

After the wave of comments, Kim changed the caption on one of the posts and clarified that it had been scheduled well before her grandmother’s death.

“This post was scheduled several days ago, before we lost MJ, so its publication coincided with her passing,” she wrote.

She added that she had spent the entire week with her mother, Kris Jenner, and the rest of the family, and that she now wants to focus on memories of her grandmother and celebrating her life.

Although some followers accepted this explanation, others said the post could have been deleted as soon as it became clear that it had been published at such a sensitive moment.

After the clarification, Kim also posted an emotional tribute to MJ, whom she called “my best friend,” “my gossip partner” and “my forever twin.”

She recalled the great influence her grandmother had had on her life and career, saying that it was MJ who taught her the importance of family and work.
