Kim Kardashian awarded just €1 in damages after armed robbery in Paris

A court has awarded Kim Kardashian just €1 in damages from the perpetrators of the 2016 robbery at a Paris hotel, where she was threatened with a gun and lost several pieces of jewelry, including her $4 million engagement ring.

The ruling was issued on Tuesday, after the American television personality and businesswoman sought compensation from several of the people who were convicted in May 2025 over the incident.

During her testimony, Kardashian said that in the moments of the attack she believed she could be killed. The robbers, known in France by the nickname “grandpa robbers” because of their age, were masked and wore uniforms resembling those of the police.

The group entered the hotel and took a large number of valuable items from her. Most of the stolen jewelry was never recovered.

Authorities at the time described it as the biggest robbery of its kind in France in 20 years. Among the missing items was the ring worth around $4 million, a gift from Kardashian’s former husband, rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye.

The hotel receptionist was also involved in the court case as a plaintiff. He had sought €500,000 in damages, while according to his lawyer, the court awarded him around €110,000.

The symbolic sum of €1 for Kardashian comes after court rulings against the perpetrators of the 2016 robbery, an event that drew widespread international attention because of the victim’s fame and the value of the jewelry taken.
