Turkish Major General Ozkan Ulutaş, the commander of KFOR, congratulated Kosovo’s acting prime minister, Albin Kurti, on his and the Vetëvendosje Movement’s victory in the June 7 elections.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the congratulations were conveyed on Wednesday during a meeting between the two officials at the headquarters of the Government of Kosovo in Prishtina.

The statement says that at the beginning of the meeting, which coincided with the day of the certification of the final result of the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, Kurti received congratulations from Major General Ulutaş for the June 7 victory.
Also, according to the statement, the meeting included discussion of the latest political developments, as well as the security situation in the country and the region.
The statement concludes by emphasizing that, in addition to the commitment to preserving peace, security and stability, the discussion also covered the good cooperation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and KFOR, as well as opportunities to expand and deepen it.
