Kërçeli Comes to Hyseni’s Defense: The Accusations Are About Procedures, Not Corruption

Ilir Kërçeli, an LVV deputy, reacted after criticism over the boulevard project and the construction of the new building of the Municipality of Gjilan, a 18 million euro investment led by Mayor Alban Hyseni.

He said the accusations against Hyseni are not about corruption or abuse of official duty, but about procedures and construction permits. According to Kërçeli, this reflects the new standard of governance that, as he put it, has been established in Gjilan.

Kërçeli also criticized the Municipality of Prishtina, saying that millions of euros are being spent there to subsidize a public company that is facing financial problems and delays in salary payments.

“It is interesting how some fellow deputies are dealing with a project of the mayor of Gjilan, Alban Hyseni, and his team.

This is about a project that the capital of Anamorava should have had much earlier: the city boulevard and the new municipal building, an investment worth 18 million euros.

And, believe it or not, the mayor of Gjilan is being accused not of corruption or abuse of official duty, but of issues related to the procedures and construction permits for the boulevard. This, in a way, also shows the new standard of governance established in Gjilan by Vetëvendosje!

Meanwhile, almost no word is being heard about the millions of euros passing through the Municipality of Prishtina, where the political party of those who are now raising accusations is in power.

In fact, sessions are being called to subsidize a public enterprise with millions of euros, so that it can be protected from bailiffs. This is happening for projects used by a limited number of citizens of the capital, as well as to cover the rent costs of this enterprise’s premises.

A company that has been brought to such a state that even workers’ salaries have to be covered through municipal subsidies, and even then with major delays.”
