Jashari calls for Kosovo’s full membership in the Adriatic Charter

Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, commander of the Kosovo Security Force, attended the A5 Adriatic Charter conference held in Zadar, Croatia.

The meeting was chaired by the commander of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), General Alexus G. Grynkewich, and was also attended by the defense chiefs of the Western Balkan countries.

The KSF said that special attention at the high-level conference was devoted to current geopolitical challenges and the need to expand regional cooperation in the Balkans, with the aim of ensuring long-term stability and lasting peace.

During the conference, Jashari held meetings with senior international military officials. They included General Grynkewich and the deputy commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples, General Peter K. Scot.

According to the statement, the talks focused on advancing interoperability among the forces, improving operational coordination, and securing support from Euro-Atlantic allies to strengthen defense capabilities.

The KSF commander also met with the commander of the Iowa National Guard, Major General Stephen Osborn. They discussed deepening cooperation and strengthening the partnership between the two forces.

In his address to the participants, Jashari formally submitted a request for Kosovo to become a full member of the Adriatic Charter, the KSF said.

He reiterated that the successful completion of the KSF’s transition and its readiness to participate in international missions position Kosovo as a natural and reliable partner. According to the statement, Jashari said that the country deserves full inclusion in all Euro-Atlantic security structures and initiatives.
