Jashari calls for Kosovo’s full membership in the Adriatic Charter A5

Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), has called for Kosovo to become a full member of the Adriatic Charter A5.

He made the request at the Adriatic Charter conference, held this year in Zadar, Croatia.

During his speech, Jashari said that the successful completion of the KSF’s transition, along with its readiness to participate in international missions, demonstrates that Kosovo is a reliable partner.

According to him, Kosovo deserves full inclusion in Euro-Atlantic security structures and initiatives.

The conference was led by the commander of the United States European Command (EUCOM), General Alexus G. Grynkewich, and was also attended by the defense chiefs of Western Balkan countries.

The event addressed current security challenges, as well as the need to expand cooperation in the region, according to the statement, Sinjali reports.

During the conference, Jashari also met with senior international military representatives, including EUCOM commander General Grynkewich and JFC Naples Deputy Commander General Peter K. Scot.

The talks focused on cooperation between the forces, operational coordination, and support for building defense capabilities.

The KSF commander also met with the commander of the Iowa National Guard, Major General Stephen Osborn, with whom he discussed opportunities to strengthen the partnership between the two forces.
