Jagxhiu assures: Political obstacles will not stop the agreement on removing roaming charges

The question of whether the institutional crisis and the inability to constitute the Assembly would block negotiations on removing roaming charges with the European Union was answered by the Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, Lulëzon Jagxhiu. The implementation of the agreement is expected to begin next year, depending on the progress of talks.

After the executive meeting, he announced that with the decision approved today, a negotiating group will be created that will sit down at the table with EU representatives.

Commenting on the scenario of a political blockade, Jagxhiu explained that the procedure is not at risk. “Today we marked a key step with the approval of the initiative for this agreement. This government decision allows us to establish the team that will negotiate with the European Union. Once the agreement is reached, it is signed with the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, and then passes to the president for ratification. In this specific case, I do not see any obstacle to completing the entire implementation cycle, despite the issue of constituting the Assembly,” he stated.
