Islami appeals for calm: Do not be influenced by provocations and fake news

On the eve of the verdict announcement against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army in The Hague, security expert Avni Islami has asked citizens to show calm, prudence, and vigilance.

Islami stated in a Facebook post that, with less than 48 hours until the verdict is announced, “the propaganda machine and Serbian intelligence services (BIA) and others” have started their activities.

According to him, false news and sensational statements about fabricated unrest in Kosovo are circulating in the media and on social networks. He has linked this scenario with the recent exercises of the Serbian army near the Kosovo border, describing it as “a pure hybrid war” that, he said, will fail in the face of the people’s maturity.

The security expert appealed to citizens not to be influenced by provocations and false information, which, according to him, are intended to cause panic.

Islami emphasized that citizens’ trust and cooperation with the country’s institutions constitute the strongest defense, while the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI) and the Kosovo Police, according to him, are fully ready, strong, and unbreakable.

He warned that any attempt by foreign agencies or destabilizing elements to incite provocations and undermine the constitutional order “will be neutralized immediately.” Islami also assessed that Kosovo’s security remains guaranteed and inviolable.
