Security expert Avni Islami has sharply reacted to Aleksandar Vulin’s recent rhetoric, stressing that the Serbian official is sowing panic through a narrative built on fear, even though the reality on the ground shows a stable and untroubled Kosovo.
Referring to Vulin’s figure, Islami described him as one of the harshest voices against Albanians on the Serbian political scene. He recalled that Vulin has served in key posts, including head of Serbia’s Security Intelligence Agency (BIA). According to the analyst, in his latest interview for the “Fokus” program on B92 television, Vulin focused on relations between Pristina and Belgrade, addressing sensitive political and security issues.

Islami noted that his entire speech was built around assumptions of an increase in interethnic clashes. These claims came right after NATO signals that a reduction of KFOR troops was being considered, due to the noticeable improvement in the country’s security climate. Meanwhile, the analyst emphasized that the real situation throughout Kosovo’s territory remains completely calm. He added that soon the Kosovo Police will take over full operational protection of Serbian Orthodox monasteries, a move that will put an end to the misuse of these holy sites by Serbian services for destabilizing purposes. Islami concluded by assuring that Kosovo’s security forces, in full partnership with international allies responsible for peace, are mobilized without interruption to ensure a safe environment for all inhabitants.
