Iranian Media: Mojtaba Khamenei on His Deathbed, Supreme Leader in Serious Condition

Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in critical condition and could die at any moment.

This is according to media outlets in Iran, citing sources close to the Tehran regime.

The independent Iranian news agency IranWire writes that Khamenei has not held any meetings with members of the Iranian government since the US-Israeli strikes in which his father, Ali Khamenei, was killed.

“We would not be surprised if we learned of his death soon,” one of the sources said, according to the Iranian agency.

Since assuming the position of supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei has made no public appearances, and no recordings of his speeches have been broadcast.

Iranian state media have published only written statements attributed to him.

According to some reports, he may have been wounded and injured during the strike that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, and has remained isolated ever since, communicating with senior regime officials through a network of intermediaries.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also said in an interview broadcast Wednesday on state television that contact with the supreme leader is currently “very difficult.”

However, there has so far been no official confirmation from the Iranian authorities regarding Mojtaba Khamenei’s health, and the reports remain unconfirmed.
