Incident involving the Israeli flag, activist Arben Kola: There are attempts to damage the protest, there are infiltrated groups among us! We are not against any state

One of the initiators of the civic protest in Tirana against the government, Arben Kola, reacted after the incident involving the Israeli flag, stating that, in his view, there are individuals or groups trying to damage the image of the protest.

In a statement to News24, Kola said the civic movement has no connection to religious or national positions and that its sole aim is to express citizens’ dissatisfaction.

“There are infiltrated groups among us trying to give the protest a different meaning. This will not undo the will of the citizens,” he declared.

Kola said information would be made public about the people who, according to him, are trying to damage the protest, while also calling on security institutions to respond in order to avoid tensions.

Regarding the incident with the Israeli flag, he distanced himself from any action against the national symbols of other countries.

“We are not against any state and we are not here to violate the flags of any country, whether Israel, Serbia, Greece or other states. This protest does not have such a purpose,” Kola said.
