In Skopje, police questioned two minors in the presence of their parents over violence against a 12-year-old girl

Two minors were interviewed at a police station, in the presence of their parents, in connection with the case of violence against a 12-year-old girl in a park in the Aerodrom municipality of Skopje. The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that, once the case is fully clarified, criminal charges will be filed against the persons involved.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the incident was reported on July 1, 2026, at around 19:30, when a 31-year-old woman reported to the Skopje Police Department that her 12-year-old daughter had been physically assaulted a day earlier, on June 30, at around 22:00, in a park in Aerodrom.

The ministry’s statement explains that the 12-year-old girl was initially, on two occasions, forced by a 14-year-old minor, who was together with her friend, to kneel and apologize. Later, after she had left the scene, she was physically attacked by another minor.

According to the same statement, the entire incident was recorded on a mobile phone by several minors who were at the scene, while the victim knew one of them. On the same day, an official interview was conducted at the police station with two minors in the presence of their parents.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also announced that the juvenile public prosecutor and the Inter-Municipal Center for Social Work had been informed about the case.

“Activities are being undertaken to identify the other minors involved and to fully clarify the case, after which criminal charges will be filed for the offenses of ‘Violence,’ under Article 386, and ‘Neglect and Abuse of a Minor,’ under Article 201 of the Criminal Code,” the ministry’s statement said.
