IKSHPK holds breast cancer awareness activities in all regions

During Pink October, the month dedicated to breast cancer awareness, the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo is organizing informational and educational activities in all regions of the country.

According to an IKSHPK announcement, these activities are being held through the Regional Public Health Centers, with the participation of health and educational institutions and local partners.

Peja has organized solidarity initiatives, including hair donations to support women facing breast cancer, as well as health education lectures.

In Prizren, women who have survived breast cancer and the organization “Burrneshat” planted saplings as part of symbolic activities. Lectures were also held in several parts of the city.

Mitrovica hosted the traditional march dedicated to solidarity and awareness. Meanwhile, informational lectures were held in schools, public institutions and health centers in Gjilan, Ferizaj and Prishtina.

IKSHPK says these activities aim to inform people about risk factors, signs and symptoms, and to emphasize the importance of regular checkups and early detection of breast cancer. The institute calls on citizens to take care of their health by staying informed, acting in time and getting checked for their own sake and their lives.
