Hoxhaj: The Hague sentencing of former KLA leaders constitutes international aggression against Kosovo

Enver Hoxhaj, a lawmaker and former foreign minister, as well as a friend and close associate of the former KLA leaders, described the Hague court’s decision to sentence them as an international aggression against Kosovo.

According to him, Kosovo’s political scene must be reshaped to respond to this situation, which he described as the country’s most serious blow. Hoxhaj said that after the aggression in Banjska, which took place 2–3 years ago, Kosovo is facing another aggression, this time at the international level.

He called on lawmakers to collect the necessary signatures and begin the procedure to abolish the court, stressing that he was ready to be the first to sign the initiative.

Hoxhaj said that yesterday’s Hague ruling, which he described as unjust, had affected Kosovo’s history and identity. In a statement to Rtv21, he said that the identity of its citizens, the country’s present, the struggle for independence and the legitimacy of the independent state of Kosovo had been damaged.

According to him, these developments have created an entirely new political situation and set of circumstances, which is why Kosovo’s political approach must also be reconsidered.

The lawmaker also stressed that the Hague ruling against the former KLA leaders can never be accepted. He described as a grave insult to the people of Kosovo and its citizens the claim that the KLA leaders had a criminal aim and plan.

Hoxhaj added that the ruling must be challenged through appeals and complaints, while the people of Kosovo, in every form and by every means, must say “NO” to it.
