“History is being written in this square and we are on the side of the winners”/ Activist: The truth cannot be hidden by propaganda! Even American senators are supporting us

Activist Ilir Xhemalaj delivered a speech during the protest, declaring that the gathering represents, in his view, “the indomitable spirit of Albanians” and a revolt that is turning into hope.

According to him, the turnout in the square shows that citizens cannot be silenced.

“This square today does not simply hold people, but the indomitable spirit of Albanians. This is a revolt that is turning into hope. They wanted to silence us, but we chose to speak. This is our country and we will not hand it over to anyone,” he said.

Xhemalaj also claimed that the protest’s cause has received support from American political figures as well, describing this as an important development for the movement.

“The truth of this square can no longer be hidden, neither by propaganda nor by censorship. American Congressman Joe Wilson today supported our revolution and brought out the truth. I thank our friends in the Senate who defend the truth and the sovereignty of Albanians,” he said.

He added that, in his view, the fight against corruption has crossed borders and can no longer be stopped, and he concluded his speech with patriotic messages and calls for an alliance with the US.

“History is being written today in this square and we are on the side of the winners. For our Albania, our flag and the eternal alliance with the US,” Xhemalaj declared.
