Due to the hot weather expected on Thursday, August 20, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport warns of temporary measures for heavy transport. Vehicles exceeding 20 tons will not be allowed to travel on highways during a specific time interval.

The restriction takes effect from 11:00 a.m. and lasts until 5:30 p.m. The reason is directly related to the temperature forecast, which is expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius or higher, risking damage to the asphalt from heavy loads.
Meanwhile, the movement of these high-tonnage vehicles will continue without any obstacles on all national, regional, and connecting roads. The restriction exclusively affects the highway network.
Exempted from this rule are law enforcement vehicles, public safety vehicles, as well as emergency service vehicles and those belonging to healthcare institutions. These categories may circulate freely even during the restriction hours.
The ministry calls on all drivers and transport companies to strictly implement this decision. They are also asked to reorganize their travel schedules to fit within the permitted time window, in order to avoid delays.
