Haziri speaks about signatures against Abdixhiku: LDK will follow statutory rules

The Vice President of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lutfi Haziri, has announced that the request for an Extraordinary Assembly meeting, supported by signatures submitted by a group of members, will be reviewed according to the internal rules and provisions of the party’s Statute.

In a statement to Ekonomia Online, Haziri was asked whether the issue had been discussed and when the Assembly could be convened. He replied that the management of this process belongs to the LDK secretariat.

“The procedural path is being followed. The secretariat handles the issue in accordance with our internal political norms. I am convinced that our Statute has defined this aspect and that the LDK has the proper experience to administer this entire political process, from which we will emerge strengthened in the end,” Haziri emphasized.

When journalists asked what a scenario of the dismissal of chairman Lumir Abdixhiku would bring, the vice president reacted by calling the question prejudicial. “You are making prejudices, you are judging us through your questions,” he said.

Then, Haziri underlined that political demands are not resolved through procedural mechanisms, but added that statutory norms will be strictly respected.

“Political issues are not addressed with procedures. However, since these norms exist that determine our conduct and organization, we will adhere to them until the end. I think the work will proceed in two directions: the first concerns the examination of the signatories’ request, who are delegates and representatives of our electorate. The second relates to the LDK chairman and his office, who have a full mandate to lead these political processes in accordance with the request. The request is procedural, so the treatment will be procedural. As for those that are political issues, we will discuss them politically and all together,” he declared.

Regarding the verification of the submitted signatures, Haziri clarified that this is a duty that belongs to the secretariat. “The secretariat verifies them in due time, checks them, and then presents them to the presidency,” Haziri concluded.
