She also called on Rama to apologize for the signature his father, Kristaq Rama, put on the order for the execution of the poet Havzi Nela.
“I am Lavdije Nela, a former political prisoner. I was imprisoned together with my husband, Havzi Nela. I was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while my husband was sentenced to life imprisonment in the extermination camps of Spaç and Kukës until August 10, 1988.
“The dictator Ramiz Alia and Kristaq Rama signed the order for the poet Havzi Nela’s hanging. While his body was hanging, the party led by Edi Rama was dancing.
“The communist regime left me without a family and without children, and for 35 years we have faced the hatred of the prime minister’s family.
“Only in Albania can the son of an executioner become prime minister, because after 1990 the crimes of communism were not punished.
“When I see you here after 72 days, my heart fills with joy. You are my children and Havzi Nela’s children because you are advancing our cause.
“You held a minute of silence in this square for the lives of those who were killed for a democratic Albania. We are not seeking revenge, but justice. For 35 years I have waited for Rama to apologize because his father hanged the poet Havzi Nela. Not only did he fail to do so, but he also demanded that members of parliament bow before his father.
“You, the young people, are building the new Albania—the Albania Havzi Nela fought for and for which Albanians spent hundreds of years in prison.
“Together with you, from this podium, I address the prime minister: Rama, resign!”
“Leave and face justice.
“You are protesting for your rights, and you have shown the world how to protest. You are demanding justice and a new government. You will save Albania from this government. We do not need this government of crime and murder, of drugs, which works only for 10 people,” she said.
