Hamza criticizes Kurti’s proposals for president

The chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, has reacted to Prime Minister Kurti’s statement about possible presidential candidates Feride Rushiti and Glauk Konjufca.

Hamza said that the proposals and the way this issue is being handled are by no means serious for the country.

“There is an attempt to turn this issue into last-minute bargaining. I have said this before and I am repeating it: the law on the Specialist Chambers is not an issue that concerns only the PDK. This is about the history, the past, the present and the future of our country. Members of the KLA are present in all political parties, while the aim is to use this law for blackmail and to achieve a political objective. That objective is the election of a political president and the completion of the institutions’ 100 percent capture. I attended the meeting, and you can see how frequently political positions are changing,” Hamza said.

He made it clear that his principled position is for the law to first be approved in its second reading, and only after that should discussions on the president begin.
