Greek Customs Officers on Strike Today, Queues Expected at Bogorodica and Dojran

Today’s strike by Greek customs services is expected to slow traffic and create long queues at the Evzoni, Dojran and Niki border crossings. Travelers heading to Greece or returning from the country should expect longer delays at several crossings.

According to available information, the work stoppage includes the Evzoni, Dojran and Niki border crossings.

At Evzoni (Bogorodica), Dojran (Dojrani) and Niki (Medžitlija), passenger vehicles will be allowed to cross once every 10 minutes, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Greek time. Meanwhile, freight traffic has been completely suspended.

This arrangement is expected to result in longer waits and growing queues, particularly at Evzoni, the border crossing most frequently used by tourists traveling to Greek resorts.

Tourism organizations recommend that drivers check conditions at the border before setting off, allow extra time for their journey and prepare for possible delays.

Traffic is expected to gradually return to normal after the strike ends, but the increased flow of vehicles may cause congestion for the remainder of the day.
