Gani Geci’s family gathers outside court, awaiting hearing on security measure

Relatives of former Kosovo Assembly deputy Gani Geci were seen outside the Palace of Justice.

Footage obtained by Indeks Online shows that a considerable number of his family members gathered outside the court, where a decision is expected to be made regarding his case.

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has asked the Basic Court of Pristina to impose a security measure on the former deputy.

Geci was arrested on suspicion of threatening journalist Lirim Mehmetaj because the latter was carrying out his profession. He now faces a request for one month of pretrial detention.

The information was made public by Mirlinda Gashi, spokesperson for the Basic Court in Pristina, who announced that the hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
