Gani Geci has been arrested by the authorities on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Threatening,” sources told Sinjali.

The incident is linked to statements made by journalist Lirim Mehmetaj on the program “Debat Plus.” Mehmetaj said Gani Geci had contacted him and asked him to remove or change a post relating to Vetëvendosje Movement MP Fatos Geci.
According to the journalist, he refused the request. Mehmetaj said that several representatives of the Geci family subsequently came to his office and threatened him. He said he had reported the incident to the Kosovo Police.
During the broadcast, host Ermal Panduri announced that Gani Geci was in the parking lot of the television station where the debate was taking place.
At the time this report was published, the Kosovo Police had not provided official details about the arrest.
