Fires continue even in September, 21 hotspots reported across Albania

Fire hotspots have been reported in several counties of the country today, as Albania is now in the month of September.

Out of 21 hotspots reported on Albanian territory, 5 remain active, 9 are under supervision and 7 have been completely extinguished. The active or monitored hotspots are mainly in the counties of Dibër, Shkodër and Fier. The fire in Dajt has been put out, while the situation is being monitored by Civil Protection structures.

For extinguishing and controlling the flames, 324 local and regional operational forces, 17 fire engines, as well as 92 Armed Forces personnel, 10 vehicles, 1 drone and 1 ambulance have been engaged. Authorities report that currently there is no danger to inhabited areas.

The summary of the fire situation refers to 11.09.2026, 20:00.

In Tirana County, the fire on Mount Dajt has been extinguished. During the day, 33 military forces, 4 vehicles and 1 ambulance were also involved in the intervention. No danger to inhabited areas is reported. Meanwhile, the hotspot at Malin me Gropa has been isolated and continues to be kept under observation.

The situation remains active in Dibër County, where fires continue in Lundre–Madhesh of Mat, Cerrujë–Mali i Allushit in Klos, and in Selishtë. The hotspot at Qafa e Helmes, Bulqizë, is under supervision.

In Shkodër County, the fire in Porav of Fushë-Arrëz is still active. The hotspot in Rragam of Shkodër is being monitored, while during the day 22 military forces and 3 vehicles were also engaged in operations. The hotspot on Mount Tërbun is also under supervision. In Rragam and Tërbun, no houses at risk are reported.

In Fier County, the hotspot in Çërrilë of Mallakastër remains active, but has been isolated. Local structures are working to extinguish it, supported by 32 military forces and 3 vehicles. The fire in Peshtan continues to be monitored.

The hotspots identified in the counties of Lezhë, Elbasan and Korçë are also under supervision. In Opar of Korçë there is no danger to houses, while in Gallatë of Kurbin the difficult terrain limits movement and the use of vehicles. However, in this area too, no danger to houses is reported.

The National Civil Protection Agency continues uninterrupted monitoring of the situation throughout the country, in cooperation with prefectures, municipalities and Civil Protection system structures.

Operational forces and capacities remain on the ground and on standby for intervention, focused on protecting the lives, homes and property of citizens.
