Fires across the country/ Ministry of Defense: 14 fire sites remain active, with the situation most problematic in these areas

The Ministry of Defense has published its latest update on the wildfire situation across the country. According to the data, 44 fire sites were recorded over the past 24 hours.

Of these, 14 remain active, 9 are being monitored, while 21 have been extinguished.

A total of 636 local personnel and 67 firefighting vehicles have been deployed on the ground. The Armed Forces have provided support with 329 personnel, numerous vehicles, 6 helicopter operations, 1 Air Tractor aircraft and 1 drone.

In Shkodër, the Bardhaj-Myselim fire remains active, with operations being conducted from the ground and air, involving 71 personnel and 2 Armed Forces helicopters.

The fires in Mnelë e Vogël, Naraç and Mount Tërbun are also active, while 50 military personnel have been deployed in these areas. The fire site in Bërdicë is being monitored and poses no risk to homes.

In Tirana County, fires remain active on Mount Dajti, in Kryezi, Kavajë, and in Selitë e Malit. A total of 82 personnel and 1 Armed Forces helicopter have been deployed on Dajti, while 1 Air Tractor aircraft has also been used in Kryezi.

In Dibër, active fires are located in Vajkal, Lundre-Madhesh, Qafa e Helmes and Cerrujë. The Armed Forces are also providing support for the Lundre-Madhesh fire.

Two fire sites remain active in Lezhë, in Gallatë and in the Kalivaç-Zimaj-Kashnjet area. A total of 63 personnel and 2 Armed Forces helicopters have also been deployed in the latter area. There have been no reports of homes being at risk.

In Berat, the fire in Vokopolë remains active, while the fire in the Kala neighborhood has been extinguished.

In Korçë, Elbasan, Vlorë, Durrës, Fier and Kukës, some of the fire sites have been extinguished or are being monitored.

The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) is continuously monitoring the situation across the country, in close coordination with the prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system.

Operational capacities remain deployed on the ground and on standby for intervention wherever required, with priority given to protecting lives, homes, citizens’ property and the environment.
