Fires: 8 Blazes Remain Active; The Current Situation and the Most Problematic Areas

The Ministry of Defense has provided an update on the wildfire situation across the country over the past 24 hours. According to official data, a total of 33 fires were reported, of which 8 remain active, while another 5 are being monitored.

A total of 535 operational personnel and 51 fire engines have been deployed to manage the situation. The Armed Forces have supported the operations with 100 personnel, 2 fire engines, 3 helicopters, and 2 Air Tractor aircraft.

Currently, 120 military personnel, 2 helicopters, and 2 Air Tractor aircraft are deployed on the ground.

Mount Dajti, Tirana – operations are continuing with 15 MZSH personnel, 10 ADZM personnel, 50 Armed Forces personnel, and 2 Air Force helicopters. There is no risk to residential areas. Meanwhile, the fires in Priskë and Vakumone are under control and are being monitored.

Gurë-Lurë, Dibër – a large-scale operation is continuing with 115 municipal personnel, 13 police officers, 11 ADZM personnel, 14 MZSH personnel, 7 volunteers, and 50 Armed Forces personnel, supported by 2 Air Tractor aircraft. Firebreaks opened on the ground have prevented the fire from spreading toward homes, and there is currently no risk to residential areas.

Qafë Helmës and Bruç – operations are continuing in difficult terrain; on the Bulqizë side, the fire in Qafë Helmës has been extinguished and remains active only in the direction of Selishtë. No risk to homes has been reported in either area.

Lufaj, Mirditë – operational forces are continuing their work after opening firebreaks, with support from 1 Air Force helicopter.

Fushë-Lajë, Pukë – 10 firefighters, 16 municipal personnel, and 40 Armed Forces personnel are involved in the operation. The fire is not highly intense, and there is no risk to residential areas. In Rrjoll, the situation is also being closely monitored by drone, and there is likewise no risk to homes.
