Fire Situation Across the Country: 11 Fires Remain Active, Two Air Tractor Aircraft Also Deployed; Most Problematic Areas

The Ministry of Defense has provided an update on the wildfire situation across the country over the past 24 hours, during which 29 fires were reported. Of these, 11 remain active, 3 are being monitored, and 4 have been brought under control.

A considerable number of personnel and vehicles have been deployed to deal with the situation.

Operating on the ground are 249 Fire and Rescue Service personnel, 48 police officers, 233 personnel from municipalities, the Regional Administration of Protected Areas, the Forestry Service and ASHP, 206 volunteers, and 118 Armed Forces personnel.

A total of 43 fire engines have been deployed in the operations. The Armed Forces have made available 9 fire engines, 4 water tankers, 3 ambulances, 3 helicopters, and 2 Air Tractor aircraft.

Dajt, Tirana – Operations are continuing in the area above the Qafë-Mollë tunnels. There is no risk to residential areas. No homes are reported to be at risk in Priskë e Madhe either.

Përmet, Gjirokastër – The fires on Mount Nëmerçkë and Mount Dhëmbel remain active. The terrain is difficult, while firefighters, forestry sector employees, and volunteers are continuing efforts to contain them. There is no risk to residential areas.

Gurë-Lurë, Dibër – One of the most significant operations is continuing, involving 120 municipal personnel, 57 Armed Forces personnel, 15 police officers, 15 volunteers, and 9 employees of the Regional Administration of Protected Areas. Thanks to the intervention, the perimeter near homes has been brought under control and the risk of them catching fire has been averted. Two Air Tractor aircraft have operated from the air, while efforts are continuing in the other two directions where the fire remains intense.

Qafa e Helmes, Bulqizë–Dibër – The fire remains active in forested terrain, with 10 Fire and Rescue Service personnel, 6 municipal personnel, and 6 personnel from the Selishtë administrative unit deployed.

Trojë, Mirditë – A total of 13 Fire and Rescue Service personnel with 3 fire engines, 36 municipal personnel, 3 police officers, 20 volunteers, as well as 2 fire engines and 30 Armed Forces personnel have been deployed to contain the fire.

Shkodër – The fires in Rrencë and Goraj-Budishtë remain active. Fire and Rescue Service and Forestry Service personnel are working to contain and extinguish them. In Goraj-Budishtë, there is no risk to homes, and the fire is close to being contained.

Elbasan – The fires in Dardhë, Librazhd Municipality, where the Fire and Rescue Service, forestry personnel, and municipal forces are operating, and in Shalës, Cërrik Municipality, remain active. In Dardhë, there is no risk to residential areas.
