Fire in Gjyralë, Cërrik: Teams on the Ground to Extinguish the Fires

A powerful fire broke out late last night in the village of Gjyralë, which is part of the Municipality of Cërrik.

The flames engulfed a considerable area covered with shrubs and low vegetation, spreading rapidly through the area.

As soon as the alert was received, local authorities were activated without delay to manage the situation. Dozens of firefighters, two operational vehicles and civil emergency personnel from Cërrik were sent to the scene.

Throughout the night, the teams involved fought to contain the active fire hotspots, keep the flames under control and fully extinguish them.

According to official reports, populated areas are not under threat. The homes in Gjyralë are at a safe distance from the fire front, while the response forces have built a protective barrier preventing the flames from approaching them.

At present, the operation is still under way. Emergency units remain on standby to monitor the fire line and extinguish any hidden hotspots, with the aim of preventing any possible re-ignition.
