Fire from Lundre spreads toward Shkopet, situation remains critical

The flames that engulfed the village of Lundre have spread beyond its territory and reached the area of Madhesh village, continuing toward Shkopet.

Strong winds are fueling the spread of the fire and significantly hampering efforts to contain it.

A residence where the forces involved in tackling the situation have been stationed is also at risk. For this reason, an immediate assessment of safety conditions for the personnel and the building is necessary.

On Mount Trodhen, the flames have moved toward the area of the shepherds’ huts. Faced with the direct danger, the evacuation of the people there has been requested in order to protect their lives, reports journalist Enver Doçi.

Addressing the situation requires swift action, coordination among the relevant structures and the deployment of all available capacities.

The difficult terrain and windy conditions make an aerial intervention essential to halt the advance of the flames and protect homes, residents and the shepherds’ huts.

Any delay in intervention increases the risk of the fire spreading even further out of control.
