Fire breaks out in the Lazarat field; intervention by three firefighting teams prevents the flames from spreading

Flames engulfed the Lazarat field in Gjirokastër this evening, while the report of the incident was received at 20:36 following a phone call from a citizen.

After receiving the alert, the Gjirokastër Directorate of Fire Protection and Rescue Services immediately sent a response team to the scene. Firefighters found that the fire had grown in size and that a rapid response was needed.

Three firefighting teams were deployed to deal with the situation, working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.

Thanks to the timely intervention, the flames were brought under control and the fire was completely extinguished at 21:50.

The incident caused no material damage. The firefighters’ swift response prevented the fire from spreading to other areas.
